H, I'm confused with your comment, "They should have all quit when the community wanted to recall them." There never was a recall as it was a failed effort to even collect enough signatures because the large majority of our community did not agree with a recall. That said, thank you for your service Ken- our district is in such a strong financial position, attracts and retains the brightest professionals, shows not only academic excellence but understands the importance of equity and has a huge army of parent volunteers from pta, to district committees and community partners -- that you, Sir, have helped build all these years.

He needs to go. Current board is not providing the intellectual oversight to the SRVUSD adminstration staff. Every vote for the past 2 years has been 5-0- despite objections from parents.

Losing both Mark Jewett and Greg Marvel have had the worst impact on the district. Ken gave his time- thank you. But he didn't provide any strong insights or challenges to justify what is being proposed by the executive admin staff (Malloy). Including 15 Equity counselors will go down in in SRVUSD history as the lamest move- when the money could have funded academic counselors, or mental health advisors, new math department curriculum/leadership etc. Malloy and crew went to a US school adminstration seminar and presented their progressive approach (equity)- and people rolled their eyes and said 'yeah, everyone is fleeing California where they focused on non-binary bathrooms and not academic improvements" The adminstration talks about Deep Learning- but they have no measureable goals, just buzz word glore. Maybe they should learn about SMART goals--

Goodbye Ken-

I do think our district needs to increase the pay for these board members. Our district is drastically behind in approving increased pay for board members time compared to same sized districts in California. Their average pay is about $20K per year, ours $4K.

JesseT - First, the recall very much succeeded. The signatures were not finalized due to school returning before the recall concluded. It is clear now that Ken Mintz had no intention of actually returning. Therefore, with so many in the community displeased with him, he should have quit then or at least met with constituents in his area. But, he did neither of these things and instead contributed further to the decline of SRVUSD by baselessly calling female athletes racists and threw away $2MM. SRVUSD is better off without Ken Mintz.

H, "So many in the community" were actually not displeased enough with him or the recall would have been successful. It was not. That fact can easily be confirmed by calling the County Elections office at (925) 335-7800.

JesseT - Don't be narrow minded. The goal of recall was to get school back for the kids. Something that parents here in Danville/Alamo/Diablo/San Ramon succeeded in doing that didn't happen elsewhere in the state; all due to enormous pressure from the parents here. It's also a fact that the organizers of the recall here were instrumental in consulting with San Francisco to conduct their incredibly successful recall using strategies developed right here.

Out of curiosity, did you not read the part of my last comment that stated "The signatures were not finalized due to school returning before the recall concluded?" Did you not understand it? Or did you just not care? Has to be one given your comment.

H, The state and county set the perimeters- not our school board. Thankfully, there was an entire team of community members collaborating and serving on district committees, panels, attending meetings~ doing the important work to get back in school safety. They rose about the nose as they knew what mattered most; our kids back on campus safely. They did so without backing any recall or fanning the flames of divineness, seeing what comment will stick to feed into their narrative ... No, these community members (parents, teachers, our board of education, administration, city partners) were simply too busy. They all knew what was at stake and what truly mattered.

JesseT - Tell me you don't know what happened with getting kids back to school without telling me you don't know what happened.

JesseT - Let's use facts instead of your hyperbole. Community members you mentioned worked with CCHS and gamed the numbers from day one to fit their political narrative. Dr. Malloy even made a bold claim that he would only go back if and when CCHS posted a specific number on their webpage for N days in a row. After N days of being under, CCHS manually changed their webpage on that last day to be over after the numbers were published as under for an hour. Members of the recall group, not your cadre, demanded accountability and transparency from CCHS directors and County Supervisors. There was an immediate CPRA request to detail how the manual change happened and to release all communications from when that number was under number was published to when it was manually changed. What was the result of that again? Oh, right, they changed the number back that very afternoon (with an asterisk because you know ... they tried) and then kids back in school. This was all despite the best efforts of all the people like Ken Mintz and the others you mentioned to keep schools closed indefinitely.

Again SRVUSD will be a better place without Ken Mintz and other elected and staff government officials that share his refusal to be transparent with the community they serve.

H, So to summarize: Facts:
-“An effort to unseat three members of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District's Board of Education has failed after a parent group seeking to launch a recall election did not turn in a petition with an adequate number of signatures from voters before the deadline.” (Danville-SanRamon, Fri, Jul 23, 2021) Not my words, but a quote from taken from the headline “Attempt to recall three SRVUSD board members fails to advance” on this very website. To note, from the same article, “They continued with the recall effort even after students began returning to in-person learning.”
-The state and county set the perimeters- not our school board.
-An entire team of community members (parents, pta leaders, city partners, the board of education, teachers, staff, district leaders and even students) collaborated and served on district committees, panels, attended meetings~ doing the important work to get back on campus safety~ It’s amazing what a group of committed community members can do when we all work towards a common goal. All of the work and progress was presented at the school board meetings, transparent and open to the public to view anytime.
-Being the loudest person in the room doesn’t mean you are right. It just means you are loud.

JesseT - the goal was to get kids back to school and it succeeded despite the best efforts of people like you and Ken Mintz to keep schools closed forever. There were other issues at play regarding how it ended that worked out great for this community regardless of your public refusal to accept reality.
