Sad state of affairs. My children went to school in this district, some 12-14 years. Good school system at the time. Seems as time goes on so many other situations for parents and children have to confront. ex: social media (parental control issues), some creepy teacher is the mist. WOW.

Mr. Wolf’s a great math teacher. My daughter had him for Algebra several years ago. He did a good job helping her understand the concepts. Probably the best math teacher she’s ever had.
I met Mr. Wolf only once, at a Back To School night. He seemed like a nice guy. Professional. I thought my daughter was lucky to have a good math teacher. He had a Beatles poster on the wall and we talked about classic rock. He made insightful comments about my daughter. He said she was smart, but sassy.
I remember back then my daughter told me Mr. Wolf gave her the creeps. She said she’d catch him looking at her during class. Other girls in the class felt the same way. They saw him at Blackhawk Plaza one time and they said, “Eww, there’s that creepy Mr. Wolf.” I scolded my daughter for being rude.
At the time, I thought my daughter was imagining things and overreacting.
We don’t know yet if Mr. Wolf is guilty. But if he is, I have a few words for him and others like him.
You know child porn ruins the lives of children. If you use it, you’re creating demand for it, and evil people will continue to make it. Your actions spread misery. Stop using it.
If you have that predilection, don’t be a school teacher. Don’t surround yourself with children. You risk ruining their lives and yours.
Obviously, you’re in a tough predicament, as it is difficult if not impossible to seek professional treatment due to the stigma in our society. But do it anyway. If you must, tell your therapist you’re struggling with some other addiction. The coping techniques and mechanisms should be similar. Hopefully you can learn how to put this behind you.

What happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty? The school district and media have come across like judge, jury, and executioner. Like most, this man has a family who if you had any compassion for you wouldn't be posting negative things.

Folks have a right to post their opinions. If they believe that somebody is guilty, it's their opinion.
Crimes against children ignite angry responses.
Whether or not he is guilty of any crime will be determined in a court of law.

This is serious.. manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter have less bail than $1M in this state. I'm guessing, he had incredibly raunchy child porn on his computer. My question is- do any of his students remember him taking pictures of them doing any sort of activity in his classroom? Sometimes the clothes students wear can be revealing, and if he's looking, I'm sure he'd be able to find glimpses of breasts/buttocks/legs/etc. Disgusting on every level. He deserves to be behind bars until a full investigation is done or until he can get intensive help and isn't a danger to society.

Well, can we at least say that he comes in from elsewhere -- say, Oakland? We can't? Uh-oh.

Carolyn, what has the school district done that you are objecting to? Everything I have read has them taking a position of cooperating with the investigation, nothing more. What else should they do, given that multiple amounts of child pornography was found on his computer? As a parent, I would expect nothing less. Until the verdict is in, kids need to be protected from someone who could be a threat to their safety.
As for the media, they report the news, and often the more scandalous the better. Most of the articles I have read report this in a very non-biased way, however, and include comments supportive of this teacher as well as the facts regarding what was found on his computer. Can't find much there that seems unfair either.

@Marie - are you kidding me? You direct people to the rate my teachers site, to see the ONE review of this teacher, posted today? How convenient that it references preferential treatment for female students. Is it possible that you think we are so gullible as to think you did not post that yourself? How about we let the real facts emerge, rather than trying to be a part of the story?
Either way, that posting will undoubtedly now become part of the investigation. I wonder if whoever posted that realizes the position they just put themselves in. A point to ponder on this lovely Saturday.

No Sharon…the comment (probably left by a student) over a week before this came out in the news! I just didn’t want to say it was creepy. Let the readers decide.

@Marie, why would the website post the date of the entry you are directing people to as August 23rd (today) if it was posted a week ago?
The answer to that (especially with your comment that it was posted a week ago - which it obviously was not) is pretty clear. You really need to let the investigation take place without this kind of distraction, and to avoid trying to sway public opinion.

@Marie, you are absolutely right! I'm so sorry about that. It appears as though many people have comments regarding this teacher, which are almost all negative. Only the final few (after his arrest) relate to this issue.
Sorry to accuse you of rating him yourself! It does look like he wasn't a great teacher, and the idea that he might be harmful to kids is really scary.

would care to take the side of a man who was just imprisoned for $!M bail and having enough child pornography on his computer to warrant an investigation and ultimately an arrest. I for one, am want to see him behind bars. I don't want him around my kids or anyone else's kids. Anyone who looks at child porn is the lowest scum. And the district says there are no victims…. how about all the kids who have pictures on his computer- they're victims! So it may not be "Danville kids" but YES there are victims here!

Dear Marie: I am a high school teacher, not in this district. Rate My Teacher is a totally bogus site. Anybody can put anything on that site. Not reputable, not credible. Sorry, but there it is. Moving on to the actual story here: to all the parents out there: when your daughter leaves your house wearing those pantyshorts, just imagine any pedophile (not just this alleged one) staring at the free view of her genitals or rear end. And then decide to allow her to "proclaim her power" by wearing them. Garbage. And the moms in this community not only allow their daughters to actively court this kind of attention, they are often walking right beside them, also wearing the same desperate sort of outfit. And trust me, it IS desperate to be in one's 30's and 40's and dress like you are 15. I see it every day in this community. If the good ladies of Danville think that this is sophistication, that is pathetic, because in fact that kind of display is vulgar and lower class (it matters not if said pantyshorts were purchased at Nordstrom or Abercrombie and Fitch). How pathetically ignorant to think that the clothes one might see in downtown Oakland or Richmond, worn by "professional women" indicate sophistication and style when worn out in the 'burbs. I for one, am keeping a bucket in my classroom of deliberately baggy and hideously patterned clothing for these little girls to put on, and I will insist they do so. What is right isn't always popular and what is popular isn't always right. I have a 15 year old daughter who goes to high school @ San Ramon Valley High, and I cannot believe what her classmates wear. The girls in my classes wouldn't dare, because they know I won't allow it. There are pedophiles everywhere, including wealthy, entitled enclaves like Danville. Their illness is enabled and encouraged by the current culture. We as parents have to do our part to teach our daughters to value themselves as human beings, not display themselves as objects; for pedophiles, child pornographers or any other human being. And good luck with thinking that men should "just not look at females that way" (an argument I have gotten from nearly all of my female students). If you don't want to be viewed as an object, don't dress like one. It is called biology, and it is way stronger than you or me. Stronger still in pedophiles.

@ Merica- did I say that? I don't believe I did. I think people should dress appropriately. Period. Defensive much, honey?

La Profesora: I agree with everything you said except about that website. I understand that you think the site is “bogus” because the comments are anonymous, but that is what makes it a useful tool.
This website is just like weeding through the news. There are a lot of opinions and maybe some exaggerations or lies, but if you have any common sense, you can figure out the truth. I checked all of the teachers that I know, and it is pretty accurate. I also checked for this year’s teachers and am very excited for this new school year. But of course, I will draw my own conclusions after back-to-school night.

Ratemyteacher is a bogus site. It's a troll site. Usually kids with poor grades post that stuff. An informed adult would not need a site like this, they should be working closely with their childs' teacher, rather than being an armchair, gossip parent.

RuPaul Jones:
I respectfully disagree. Most of the comments that I have read were positive and did not sound like disgruntled “poor grade” students; but you are entitled to your opinion.
The only reason I posted that website was to point out the student comment dated on the 13th. If I read that previous to this news it would have thrown out red flags for me…ones that you may not see if you “work closely with child’s teacher”!
We should all know by now that kids will express feeling more on social media than they will to a parent or any other adult. You may not truly know your neighbor, teacher, or even a family member because they hide things very well. You need to be well informed, and that may mean checking sites like this.

It will be interesting to see what he's charged with… He's only guilt if he's convicted, which won't be found out for a very long time. Does anyone know when he's scheduled to appear in front of a judge? It's important to remember "charged" and "convicted" are very different things.

Let this be a lesson to those parents that if their girls describe some male teacher as creepy or weird and the boys as well. Middle school kids have an almost uncanny ability to pick up on subtle cues that are often accurate. Don't discount comments like this as often the kids are picking up on accurate perceptions that they just can't put into words. The one time my kids when little used the term creepy or weird we kept the kids away from this guy. Two years later he is convicted of child sexual abuse.

Having been the victim of a bogus and incorrect search warrant by the Santa Clara County DA's computer crime unit (someone hacked our computer and changed high school grades. We have no school children. Duh.), I will reserve judgment. Some of these agencies need headline accusations to continue their funding. They get very excited to charge someone in Danville. A million dollar bail sounds excessive.
That being said, I am bothered by comments that students thought he was creepy. There's often something to gut feel.
Let's get the facts.

Rebecca, seriously dear. Pornography and CHILD pornography is more prevalent in ALL communities than you might think. To point a finger at any one community harboring this unknown disease towards children and the innocent? Is simply indicative of your ignorance. Unfortunately to date, the professions we see it in the most are the priests, teachers and coaches of our children. It's a downright shame but prevails, whether detected or un,in MOST communities. None are absolved. It's a kind of poison that lurks where one might least expect it...

Just disgusting how most townies are blaming the victims rather than the PEDAFILER! Where's the cameras in the classrooms??? Teachers should be watched, evaluated, & drug tested monthly!

To everyone doubting the validity of this arrest:
Speaking as a former member of the Silicon Valley ICAC Task Force (I worked with Facebook and Google in fighting child pornography), I can assure you that CP warrants don't just get issued willy-nilly, or based on spurious leads. The process of issuing search warrants on these arrests is extremely laborious and involves multiple levels of oversight and verification.
Moreover, the lengths someone has to go to in order to obtain abusive images of children is substantial, and there are many steps along the way where you can leave your digital fingerprints. I'm not familiar with this case but I would be very, very surprised if this arrest did not lead to a conviction.

I find the comment by La Professora to "lower class" offensive. What exactly do you mean by "lower class"?
What is "class" appropriate clothes for girls/students under 18 yrs. of age?
By race/ethnicity?

Both my Children attended Diablo Vista. I lived in the vary neighborhood he was arrested in for 17 years....my significant other is a Federal Agent working on cases like this...little did I think I would see this behavior in Danville. Things like this don't just happen over night....that is why it is called investigating/investigation.

I have never heard those shorts referred to as "pantyshorts" but I completely agree. I moved to Blackhawk about 3 years ago from Southern California and kept noticing all the young girls in what I soon termed the "Blackhawk Uniform" of pantyshorts, tshirts, tennis shoes and long, long hair, very 70s style. I see absolutely no individuality, these girls are all clones of one another. I keep wondering why the moms around here don't buy a pair of bermudas now and then because these shorts really are literally underwear and when it's cold the girls slap on yoga pants which are just as tight. Danville moms, please buy something baggy now and then.
