My thoughts and prayers first and foremost are with this child’s family. [Removed because it was speculative and unconfirmed] I hope the security cameras were working to show exactly what occurred at that pool. And with that information, I hope change will occur [Removed because it was speculative and unconfirmed] just pool safety. We need to open our eyes...we may think we live in a perfect bedroom community but the blinders need to be removed to reveal our shortcomings so change can occur. May God rest Ben’s soul.

The Danville Police Department has finished its investigation of the circumstances surrounding the drowning death of a freshman student in San Ramon Valley High School's swimming pool last month. However, they reportedly have decided to delay a planned, related press release about the findings of that investigation until after last night's high school graduation exercises.

The Police Department reportedly found that the cause of death was asphyxiation by accidental drowning, which occurred during fourth period Physical Education class. No foul play was involved, and no criminal charges are planned.
