The Bay Area housing shortfall is an issue that has been gripping the state for years, and to discuss how Danville in particular is involved in the process of address the situation, town Mayor Robert Storer is planning to meet with his constituents on Tuesday (April 30) for the quarterly Mayor’s Town Hall.
At the event, Storer, along with town staff members, will inform attendees about state housing legislation affecting Danville as well as the town’s efforts to advocate for its needs in the housing arena, with a particular focus on the CASA Compact.
Created by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the CASA Compact is a strategy for increasing housing opportunities in the Bay Area that many Tri-Valley cities have shown great concern over — so much so that the cities of San Ramon, Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore, as well as Danville have formed a coalition to advocate for the region’s own needs.
At the Town Council’s April 16 meeting, Storer noted that local municipalities loss of control to both the state and federal governments will be a central theme during his town hall.
The Danville Mayor’s Town Hall will be held, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 400 Hartz Ave., April 30 at 6:30 p.m.
