The BART Board continues to focus on everything but their key issues. They recently met to discuss whether panhandling should be allowed (voted yes). Then they met to discuss their food and beverage ban on trains (viewed as racially biased since more African Americans received citations than others). They have much bigger issues. First, their trains are filthy and unsafe with homeless people gate crashing and setting up camp in trains. Secondly, in November 2016 the public foolishly voted in a $3.5 Billion bond to allow BART to rebuild their aging system. At the time, we were told new trains would be part of the deal. Over three years have passed and there are only a few new trains in service. Instead, BART have built transit hubs, removed parking, etc. in various locations.

BART is a mismanaged joke. I have traveled all over the world and can tell you the systems in Moscow, Singapore, Tokyo, Boston, London, Shanghai, Taipei, Delhi, etc. all are better than BART, yet BART is the most expensive.
