Sorry; but cutting the Concord City Manager's salary by 5% is not "slashing it". Not even close. I've been a public sector employee and seen too often how the lower-paid, lower-visibility employees wind up taking the deepest cuts. I would have been delighted to have had a pay cut of only 5% during the last recession, rather than the "over 11%" that was placed on us. A 5% pay cut is nothing in this type of sociao-economic climate.
