Skate aficionados and casual hobbyists will be celebrating two decades of shredding in San Ramon on Saturday, when the city throws a special celebration recognizing the 20th anniversary of the San Ramon Skate Park.
A celebration that is welcome to all skill levels, attendees are encouraged to bring their own skateboard or scooter — or borrow one from a collection provided by popular skating vendor, Rob Skate — and join in on free skate/scooter lessons to mark the occasion courtesy of the Rob Skate Academy.
The 20th anniversary celebration is free to attend, but residents are encouraged to bring money for the food trucks that will be on hand to feed attendees.
The event will also feature guests from the San Ramon Police Department and San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, who will be providing tours of an armored police vehicle and fire engine.
San Ramon Skate Park’s anniversary celebration is set to be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, directly next to the San Ramon City Hall.
When is Danville going to get a skate park? Long past due.
WHY is there a proposed Skate Park being considered for Danville when there is already a Skate Park right next door in San Ramon??? Skate parks bring graffiti, crime and are an eyesore bringing down the neighborhood.
They completely RUINED the skatepark when they attempted to update it, shame on San Ramon for letting the old park become a distant memory and turning it into a lackluster scooter park. So much talent came from the original park, they need to rip this one out and start from scratch! Absurd!
Skatepark? It’s not a skatepark anymore. It’s a scooter park now. This park sucks.
Why can’t teens do something WORTHWHILE like stay indoors and stage houses, thus bringing UP the neighborhood? Why does our town need to provide them with recreational opportunities when MY FRIENDS AND I are going to have to look at them?!?
