Hundreds gathered tonight at the Brenden Theatres in Concord to enjoy the 10th annual Academy Awards Benefit Party hosted by STAND! Against Domestic Violence and Family Stress Center.
The lobby was the scene of fancy foods from seared mahi to lettuce wraps to desserts for the price of admission as well as soft drinks and popcorn. Bottomless champagne glasses were available at a nominal cost. There was also a silent auction with prizes including meals, a huge stuffed horse and a sterling silver necklace from Tiffany & Co.
Some guests dressed formally and prizes were given for the best dressed woman, man and group, voted on by all attendees.
In the large theater the awards ceremony was showing on the big screen. Drawings were announced during commercials, as well as prize winners.
This annual fundraiser has grown in attendance each year as an enjoyable way to watch the Oscars on the big screen while giving to a good cause.
