The rumors about Peet’s Coffee and Tea opening in the Alamo Plaza are still just rumors — for now anyway.
Pamela Coddington of Double Forte Public Relations — spokeswoman for Peet’s — would not comment on the rumor other than to say, “If and when we get a lease signed, we will issue a release.”
A spokesman for Michael Mundelius, senior vice president of Colliers International which runs the plaza would only say there was no comment about Peet’s “at this time.” That spokesman declined to be named.
One possible new location for a Peet’s could be in what was the Yellow Wood Café, which, citing lost traffic when a bank relocated and too-high rent, went out of business in September despite a flurry of last minute attempts to stay open.

It might make sense for Alamo sincethe CEO of Peet’s lives there.
Welcome Peet’s to Alamo…I doesn’t take a brain surgeon to read between the line’s.
Julia form Alamo
That would be terrific! Peets is a perfect fit for Alamo- local company with the BEST coffee and wonderful employees to provide a great gathering place!!
And could an episode of Undercover Boss be far behind?
Cardinal, You’re one sharp cookie.
OMG…he is back…she is back…form alamo.
why do we need one more corporate coffee shop in Alamo. yellow wood was the best. Danville has 1 peets and 2 starbucks with in walking distance and alamo has 2 starbucks as well. what about the indy coffee shops? the coffee is always better, the service is nicer, and you have the great feeling that you are supporting yet another small business in the us and not some corporate giant. whats better for our children and community. which will allow more money to trickle back into alamo and its residents. sure peets is great and the coffee is the best and i love their everything cookie but i miss yellow wood and java bay. (java bay is old school by the way)
Wow, what a “news worthy” article. A friggin coffee shop that “might” come to Alamo. Pathetic.y
…now that explains why Yellow Wood was forced out. It’s a crime.
Ridiculous. Alamo does not need another chain coffee shop. Yellow wood was and will always be the best.
Another source of “gathering” for the Alamoanians. Goodluck Peet’s employees! Take some tips from the Starbucks down the road. The people in Alamo have no soul. They’re just breeders with large bank accounts. Really miss Yellow 🙁
