Lloyd Macky of Danville passed away Jan. 25.

He was born in San Francisco on June 6, 1916, and remained in the Bay Area for 89 years. He was the son of prominent artists Spencer and Constance Macky, and graduated from Lowell High School in the class of 1935. He spent 40 years as a sheet metal contractor and owned his own business in Berkeley. He retired in 1985 and became a “much sought after” local handyman. He was a member of the Richardson Bay Yacht Club and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Virginia.

He is survived by Virginia; daughter Connie Boero and her husband Jeff of Orinda; three grandsons, Domenic, Peter and Michael Boero; brother Donald Macky and his wife Elvira of Napa; niece Donna Messenger of Granite Bay; nephew Ross Macky of Napa; and three stepchildren, Thomas Wisdom of Colorado Springs, Col., Ginny Sandell of Tiburon, and Ann McFarland of Laguna Niguel.

A memorial service celebrating Lloyd’s life was held Feb. 11 at Wilson & Kratzer Chapel of San Ramon Valley.

The family requests donations be made in Joseph Lloyd Macky’s name to the Lions Center for the Visually Impaired, 3834 Opal St., Oakland 94609.
