Prose at the Pub
Organizers with the Eugene O’Neill Foundation are gearing up to celebrate the late playwright’s birthday next week, with Prose at the Pub in Danville.
The occasion is set to be marked by raffles, birthday, cake, and readings at the Growler Pub on Oct. 15. More information is available here.
Wine and Dine
The San Ramon Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of its longstanding Wine and Dine celebration for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“After a five-year hiatus, we’re thrilled to bring back Wine & Dine—one of San Ramon’s most cherished community traditions,” Board Chair Terry Koehne said in an announcement Monday. “This isn’t just an evening of exceptional food and wine; it’s a chance to reconnect, celebrate our local businesses, and showcase the hospitality that makes San Ramon such a special place to live, work, and play.”
The event is set for 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the San Ramon Community Center. Tickets and more information are available here.
Tri-Valley mayors summit
Registration is still open for people who want to participate in this year’s 2025 Tri-Valley Mayors’ Summit Luncheon, which is scheduled for next Wednesday (Oct. 15) at the Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton.
The annual event will bring together the mayors of Pleasanton, Danville, Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon for a “thoughtful discussion on the key issues shaping our region”.
“It’s a unique opportunity to hear directly from local leadership and to connect with decision-makers and community members from across the Tri-Valley,” according to the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, which is hosting the event.

VFW contests
The San Ramon post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is inviting San Ramon Valley students to compete in the Voice of Democracy speech contest and its Patriot’s Pen essay contest.
The essay contest is open to students in sixth through eighth grades, with the speech contest open to students in ninth through twelfth grades. The prompt for both competitions is “how are you showing patriotism and support for our country?”
Winners of the Patriot’s Pen contest go on to compete for the national prize of $5,000. For the Voice of Democracy contest, the national prize is set at $35,000.
