California Highway Patrol officers are currently working to identify and locate two of the three individuals who were inside of a stolen vehicle last Thursday that crashed into a light pole in north Pleasanton following a pursuit, a CHP spokesperson said.

The driver and two passengers initially fled the wrecked car but one of the passengers, a minor, was arrested hours later and is currently facing charges including misdemeanor resisting and obstructing a peace officer, according to CHP Dublin Officer Tyler Hahn.

The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. Nov. 13 when CHP Dublin officers attempted to pull over a white Honda Civic on Owens Drive east of Rosewood Drive for not displaying any license plates, Hahn said. The car was reported stolen out of Livermore.

But as officers attempted to initiate the traffic stop, the Honda “rapidly accelerated away and failed to yield.”

“The Honda ultimately crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Owens Drive and Las Positas (Boulevard), becoming disabled,” Hahn said. “The driver and passengers fled on foot.”

Following the crash, CHP used its helicopter unit and called on the Pleasanton and Livermore police departments to assist with the search for the driver and two passengers, which lasted for several hours.

Then, at approximately 2:45 a.m. that Friday morning, Pleasanton police received a report of a “party hiding suspiciously” at a nearby Shell gas station. Upon arriving, PPD officers located the minor passenger.

“The passenger was ultimately released from custody to his mother and is pending charges,” Hahn said. “The investigation is ongoing … We are still working on leads to the driver and passenger.”
