One person was found dead and another injured in a shooting incident at a home in unincorporated San Ramon on Wednesday afternoon, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to DanvilleSanRamon.
The circumstances remain under active investigation and limited details were able to be released publicly, sheriff’s office spokesperson Jimmy Lee said Wednesday night.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a “medical police” call at about 1:05 p.m. on Bollinger Canyon Road outside the city limits, according to Lee.
“A resident was discovered in a home bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital,” Lee said. “Another resident was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.”
Detectives and crime lab staff were continuing to investigate the scene into the night, Lee said. “Currently, there are no outstanding suspects and no threat to the community,” he added.
