The San Ramon City Council is poised for a special meeting this week ahead of its regular session to review and select applicants for a number of advisory bodies.

That includes three applicants – Ananya Bollapinni, Zara Thacker and Ira Verma – for the vacant vice chair seat on the city’s Teen Advisory Council, a position that includes serving as next year’s chair, and as the student parks commissioner through 2028.

The council is also poised to review applicants of a range of ages for seats on Contra Costa’s Advisory Council on Aging, the CCTA Citizens Advisory Committee and the county Library Commission.

Jeffrey Joh, a city council candidate challenging District 4 councilmember Marisol Rubio in this year’s election, and Edward Carranza Jr. are both seeking the CCTA committee seat.

Judy Knight and Nina Alsabur are the sole applicants for the council on aging and the library commission respectively.

The San Ramon City Council is set to meet at 6 p.m. Monday (Aug. 31). The agenda is available here.
