Eighteen representatives from nonprofit organizations gathered at the Danville Weekly office Thursday evening, Feb. 22, to learn about how to write press releases and get information into the newspaper. The workshop was tagged “Publicity 101.”

Publisher Gina Channell-Allen outlined the information that must be provided for any story in the newspaper: who, what, when, where, why and how. She also gave tips on taking a good, active photograph and how to submit it.
