Presumably that done to maintain or increase market share. It’s also changed the holiday season in-store with less need for temporary help. That’s required for the delivery companies.
Donald Trump connects with rank-and-file workers like no other billionaire I’ve ever seen. I think it comes from his practice during his development career when he would visit job sites. He’d talk with the bosses and superintendents, but also wander through the site talking with the rank-and-file blue collar workers.
That’s built a connection that continues to this day—consider that the Teamsters, a Democrat stronghold, did not endorse because about two-thirds of their members favored Trump
