Danville Downtown project contract

Officials with the Town of Danville have announced a more than $4.1 million contract with Grade Tech Inc. for work on the Downtown Master Plan Catalyst Project, which aims to welcome pedestrian traffic and facilitate community gathering spaces.

The Town Council voted to approve the contract at their most recent meeting Tuesday.

Following the award of the contract, town staff and Grade Tech are set to start on an initial projecting phasing plan as well as a public outreach campaign. Work on the project is set to be conducted in phases with the goal of minimizing traffic and business impacts.

Construction on the project was originally set to commence in late spring, but that timeline could be moved up according to an announcement from town officials on Thursday, with construction set to be finished by late fall.
