Bah Humbug! Run

San Ramon’s annual Bah Humbug! 5k run and walk is returning this weekend to Central Park, where the route begins and ends.

The main event at 8:30 a.m. Saturday is preceded by the Kids Dash, which kicks off at 8:15 a.m.

But the competition isn’t just about the race — it’s about the costumes, which will be granted separate prizes for Most Grinch-Like, Best Holiday Spirit, and Best Group Theme.

All participants will receive a holiday-themed, long-sleeved shirt and a keepsake Christmas ornament.

Tree of Lights

Hospice East Bay is hosting its annual Tree of Lights event in Blackhawk this week, with this year marking the 39th for the annual celebration of community members’ deceased loved ones throughout the region.

The Blackhawk event comes on the heels of Tree of Lights events in Danville and Alamo during Thanksgiving week. It is set for Friday (Dec. 5) at Blackhawk Road and Blackhawk Drive. More information is available here.

Danville chamber mixer

The Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its holiday mixer next week, with participants invited to bring business cards, an extra present for the event’s raffle, plus smiles and community spirit according to chamber organizers.

“Come enjoy delicious bites, refreshing drinks, and great company as we mingle with familiar faces and welcome new ones into our vibrant business community,” organizers said in an announcement Thursday.

The event is set for Dec. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 387 Diablo Road. More information is available here.

Toys for Tots holiday drive

San Ramon’s Toys for Tots holiday drive is currently underway, with donations of new, unwrapped toys for children up to 12-years-old being accepted in dropoff locations at San Ramon City Hall, the San Ramon Community Center, and the Alcosta Senior Center through Dec. 16. DeSaulnier town hall

Rep. Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) is hosting his next town hall discussion at Live Oak Elementary School in San Ramon at 11 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 6).

“I’ll be sharing updates on my work in Congress to improve quality of life for CA-10 residents by reducing commutes and investing in our education system,” DeSaulnier said in an announcement Wednesday. “I’ll also take your questions. “
