Livermore Valley Arts and Visit Tri-Valley are debuting a new culinary experience in downtown Livermore in June as part of the inaugural “Tri-Valley Twist” weekend.

Designed as a foodie’s fundraiser for LVA, “Palate: The Art of Cuisine” will challenge local restaurant chefs to create “a signature small plate inspired by a single, prominent color, bringing a vivid palette of flavors to life” as part of the culinary competition, organizers said last Friday. Live music and offerings from local pastry chefs and bars will also be part of the occasion.

“At this inaugural lunchtime event, Tri-Valley chefs come together to present a vibrant array of signature dishes that showcase the flavor, innovation, and artistry of our region,” LVA officials said. “A spectrum of taste, with multiple chefs presenting dishes inspired by bold hues, attendees will taste, vote, and help crown the audience favorite.”

Pleasanton native and jazz band leader Jeff Bordes will be performing on the outdoor Shea Homes Stage during the event that will fill the Bankhead Plaza and the theater’s lobby from 12-3 p.m. June 6.

LVA foresees “Palate: The Art of Cuisine” as the new annual summer kickoff fundraiser benefiting its activities at the Bankhead and the Bothwell Arts Center, as well as its broader educational and cultural arts outreach programs. Tickets go on sale this Friday (March 27) for general audiences, via livermorearts.org.

The special event is among nearly a dozen already being promoted by Visit Tri-Valley in Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin as part of its inaugural “Tri-Valley Twist” from June 5-7, with the schedule still being filled out.

“Twist” is billed as a “weekend where art, culture, food, wine, and innovation all collide, with VTV programming three days of concerts, pop-ups, culinary adventures, interactive experiences, family fun, and surprises around every corner”, according to LVA. Learn more at visittrivalley.com.
