Niles Canyon Railway’s Train of Lights has left the station, starting its seasonal rides full of holiday cheer last weekend and continuing through Dec. 30. The popular roundtrip on a vintage locomotive between Sunol and Niles is the largest annual fundraiser for the nonprofit that operates the historic railroad museum. While tickets are already sold out for this year, Pleasanton Weekly photographer Chuck Deckert had a seat on the test train Nov. 17 to capture this Tri-Valley tradition.
