A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near San Ramon on Friday morning, the latest small earthquake to shake the area in recent weeks, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The latest quake was recorded at 8:14 a.m. about 2.5 miles east-southeast of San Ramon and 4.4 miles north of Dublin.

There have been a number of small earthquakes since early November in the area near the Contra Costa and Alameda county lines along the Calaveras Fault, USGS officials said.
