Last July, students, teachers and volunteers in the Dominican Republic with the Wheelchair Foundation’s “From the Heart” school program took a short break from distributing wheelchairs to catch up on news from home. Representing Pleasanton were teachers Arlene Simpolo and Nichole Lee from Lydiksen, Lisa O’Connor from Donlon, and Amador Valley alumna Abby Fried.
