The owners of Danville’s Crumbs Breakfast, Lunch & Bar are on track to open their second location later this month, with months and months of renovation work nearly complete on a long-vacant building on the edge of downtown Pleasant Hill.
Partner Amy Sidhom said the team is excited to introduce “the same Crumbs experience” of morning and afternoon fare – plus its popular “Mimosa Central” menu — developed during 6-1/2 years on Railroad Avenue in downtown Danville to an additional city in their first-ever expansion.

“We’ve always envisioned Crumbs as a place to bring people together over amazing food, and Pleasant Hill felt like the perfect fit,” Sidhom told DanvilleSanRamon this week. “The support from Danville made this dream possible, and we can’t wait to bring the same energy, flavors and hospitality to Pleasant Hill.”
“We’re expecting to open in late January 2025 — just in time to brighten up those winter mornings,” she added.
The Crumbs marquee sign was installed on the facade in December, with the restaurant’s trademark upside-down umbrellas also visible inside, answering the questions Pleasant Hill residents had for most of 2024 as construction work finally got underway in the prominent building that sat unoccupied and seemingly untouched for nearly six years.
Crumbs is moving into the standalone restaurant at the corner of Contra Costa Boulevard and Gregory Lane that was vacated by The Original Pancake House in 2018.
“The building has definitely been a project! Transforming the former Pancake House into a space that feels like Crumbs has been a labor of love, but we’re in the home stretch now,” Sidhom said.
“Permitting and construction always bring challenges, but the City of Pleasant Hill has been incredibly supportive, and we’re so excited to finally see our vision come to life,” she added. “It’s been worth every minute to create a place where people can gather, relax, and enjoy good vibes and great food.”
