The San Ramon Planning Commission is holding the next in a series of public hearings on development applications for the proposed mixed-use Orchards project that developers and city planners are eying as an extension of the existing shops and services at City Center, and as a key component of the city’s fledgling downtown neighborhood.
Sunset Development Company is seeking additional feedback from the commission and the public at Tuesday’s meeting, having previously brought the project to the body in December.
The upcoming discussion is set to be a continuation of the Dec. 16 public hearing, during which commissioners asked city staff and developers to return this month with more information and clarification on a number of points.
On the table this week will be information on a preliminary stormwater control plan from the applicants, the city’s parkland dedication ordinance, timing of the project, noise and air quality impacts, pedestrian safety recommendations, and information on which intersections were analyzed in a traffic study conducted as part of the project.
Commissioners are also set to introduce the draft conditions of approval for the project at the meeting.
Staff are recommending that the commission continue public hearings on the project at the next planning commission meeting set for Feb. 3.
The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 20). The agenda is available here.
