U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney (D., 11th) will be at Lunarki’s Supermarket, 345 Railroad Ave., in Danville from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Monday, July 2, to meet with constituents and discuss issues.

“I want to make it as easy as possible for community members to discuss issues and concerns with me so that I can effectively serve them and address their needs,” McNerney said. “So instead of asking constituents to come to one of my offices, I am going to go to them.”

Throughout the year, McNerney will schedule public appearances as a part of the Congress at Your Corner program, at community hotspots like grocery stores and shopping centers. The congressman and his staff will be on hand to discuss issues, listen to opinions, and help people find solutions to any difficulties they may encounter in dealing with federal agencies.

Then at 6:30 p.m. Monday, McNerney will meet with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory employees impacted by the revised employee benefit package recently announced by the lab’s new management consortium.

The new benefits package will eliminate the pay parity between the two national labs that design nuclear weapons, Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore, thereby compromising the national tradition of laboratory competition.

This meeting will take place July 2 at the Pleasanton Senior Center 5353 Sunol Blvd., Pleasanton.
