Jeff Takada of Manteca is joining the candidate forum for the 11th Congressional district being sponsored by the San Ramon Republican Women’s Federated. This brings the number of Republican candidates to six planning to run in the primary to choose the person to face U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney, a Democrat, in November.
The other candidates who will be at the luncheon are Tony Amador, Robert Beadles, Elizabeth Emken, Brad Goehering and David Harmer.
The presentation will take place at the club’s luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Crow Canyon Country Club. Lunch costs $23. For reservations, call Leta Rockwell at 838-2908, or e-mail rockwellsnuggery@comcast.net.
“We want to educate our members about who’s running and what they stand for,” said moderator Judy Lloyd, who was a Republican candidate for Assembly District 15 in 2008. “It gives the members an opportunity to get to know those running and evaluate their candidacy and see who they want to represent them in Congress.”

Our Rep in District 11 Jerry McNerney has proven leadership for the people in our district. His leadership for our brave soldiers, veterans and families has been fantastic. Jerry even went to the war zone over Christmas to show is continued support. We need Jerry’s proven leadership now and will in the future.
Let’s have even more BIG GOVERNMENT.
Let’s have more Jerry McNerney’s!
In fact, let’s have GOVT takeover more than just the schools, auto industry, and healthcare industy, let’s let them takeover all businesses. Even your business, Chet.
That’s what we want–BIGGER Govt, more powerful Govt, and more Governmental regulation of everything. No self-determination of anything.
Is it true that that one-in-five employees work for a governmental entity–fed, state, and local.
Let’s make that one in three people. Every two people should pay for the livelihood of the third person. That’s the size of govt that we want! 100% taxation. Slavery to the GOVT (and those who control it).
🙂
I am hoping that we can find a candidate who will bring some sanity back to our House of Representatives.
Regardless of party, we need a representative in Congress who will truly represent all of the constituents of the 11th District, not just special interests favored by radical left-wing extremists in the Democratic Party. We need a representative in Congress who will be a guardian of our tax dollars, not one who votes to spend wantonly, knowing full well we don’t have the money and must borrow it.
That person is certainly not Rep Jerry McNearny. McNearny’s voting record makes it clear that he has betrayed the average constituent of the 11th District. He will be held accountable for his actions by the electorate.
We all need Jerry McNerney’s leadership to continue the fight for us all. He along with Pres Obama are leading us out of the Bush near Depression. We shall never return to the disaster of a GOP economy or GOP representives.
The hallmark of a successful Democrat politician is exemplified in McNerney. Tell the voters one thing and do another but feed them enough Kool-Aid they think you represent their best interests! It will be interesting to watch the “damage control” the McNerney campaign will roll out as the truth emerges about his actual voting record.
Great responses from Duffy, TL Nelson, psmacintosh.
Chet you have your head in the sand.
McNerney was and is a real waste.
Julia
Sorry Julia as you can be sure that our fine Rep Jerry McNerney will continue to do a great job for us all. We in District 11 are not stupid enough to return to the disaster of a GOP economy. Please note how we correctly got rid of all elected GOPers in this area.
Not that nut Harmer, again. Can he not find a job?
Good to see some competition for McNerney’s seat. When I asked his office for numbers related to health care, i.e. how many callers/writers were for/against health care his office had no idea. I pursued it with the Congressman and still he didn’t know. Hardly a man of the people. What kind of representative is he that he doesn’t know what the people he represents want? Massachusetts showed the results of his big government, more regulation, taxes mentality.
And please stop with the veteran’s supporter. I’m a Marine Corps veteran and his veteran’s stuff is populace bs.
Finally, for your folks blaming Bush – it might do you some good to read or maybe take a class in economics 101. If you think Bush gave us the worst economy since Jimmy Carter you’re too stupid to vote.
McNerney votes for Pelosi’s agenda 94.8% of the time. See for your self at http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/
He is NO moderate.
