In response to residents’ concerns about on-street parking near Osage Station Park, the Town of Danville is looking at ways to better accommodate the parking needs of patrons using the park.
At its March 10 meeting, the Danville Parks and Leisure Services Commission will be looking at plans for the improvement and expansion of the North Parking Lot at Osage Station.
The lot, located at the end of Brookside Drive, south of Paraiso Drive, currently has space for 99 vehicles. That number has proven to be insufficient to accommodate the needs of park patrons during the peak times of usage, resulting in spill-over onto nearby residential streets.
The project, funded by Parks Facilities revenue, is expected to reduce or eliminate the spill-over parking while improving the overall look and usefulness of the Osage Station lot.
The commission will meet at 7 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front St. Commissioners will examine three concept plan alternatives for the work at Osage Station, take comments from the public, and formulate a recommendation to be forwarded to the Danville Town Council for discussion at an upcoming meeting.
Anyone with questions regarding the planned project may contact Assistant Town Manager Marcia Somers at 314-3334 or msomers@ci.danville.ca.us . Comments may also be faxed to 838-0360.
