San Ramon police detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a 21-year-old accused man of shooting someone in San Ramon last week, a department spokesman announced Wednesday evening.

On the morning of Jan. 18, police officials responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Minerva Way, in a neighborhood off San Ramon Valley Boulevard north of Pine Valley Road, according to Lt. Cary Goldberg.

When they arrived, officers found a vehicle with what looked like bullet holes, and a blood trail leading away from the area, according to Goldberg.

During the course of the investigation, detectives found out that the vehicle’s driver had been shot in San Ramon at some point prior to the officers’ arrival and had received medical attention at a nearby hospital, the lieutenant said.

During their investigation, police identified Trevor Michael Berryman, 21, of San Leandro as their suspect in the shooting, Goldberg said. Police officials are not yet releasing details about the motive.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Berryman for charges of attempted murder and conspiracy, and they are currently working to track him down, Goldberg said Wednesday.

The car used during the shooting has been identified as a black, four-door, 2009 Mercedes-Benz with a California license plate number 6UWK467.

Anyone with information on this case, Berryman or his car is asked to contact SRPD at 973-2779.
