Health enthusiasts and residents who’ve made New Year’s resolutions to be more active will have a new venue in San Ramon as fitness chain Shred415 is set to open its first California location in the city.

Shred415 is essentially a fast-paced workout class that offers participants a 60-minute-long, instructor-led interval training class that alternates between speed and endurance drills on treadmills along with strength and functional movement training on the floor.

Creators have designed each class so it will increase muscle and burn calories in a fun environment that is adjustable to individual fitness levels as well as goals, according to Danville resident Lily De Choudens, the owner and operator of Shred415 San Ramon.

“I immediately fell in love with Shred415’s unique concept and method of exercise,” De Choudens said. “I can’t wait to engage with this wonderful community and motivate others to improve their health, lifestyle and overall well being.”

De Choudens and her husband Giovanni were born and raised in Puerto Rico and have lived in the Bay Area for the past seven years. An ambitious fitness enthusiast, she plans for San Ramon to be the first of three studios she would like to open in the Bay Area.

Founded in 2011 in Chicago, Shred415 is a growing chain that aspires to have 300 franchise agreements inked with 150 studios open to the public by the end of 2020.

The new studio is set to open next Saturday (Jan. 19) inside the Crow Canyon Commons, 3151 Crow Canyon Place, Suite E. To celebrate, De Choudens will be holding an open house on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. to learn more about the establishment and class options.
