The San Ramon Police Department is investigating a collision at Crow Canyon and Bollinger Canyon roads last week that resulted in two people being hospitalized and a street closure around the intersection.

Officers first responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 2:06 p.m. last Thursday (July 27). Early investigation results suggest that a 41-year-old San Ramon man driving a Volvo ran a red light while traveling westbound on Crow Canyon Road near the intersection with Bollinger Canyon Road and collided with a Toyota Yaris that was turning left onto Crow Canyon Road from Bollinger Canyon Road into the westbound lane, according to San Ramon police.

The Volvo driver sustained major injuries to the head and neck and was transported to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, as was the Toyota driver, a 35-year-old San Ramon woman who suffered moderate injuries, according to SRPD.

As of Tuesday afternoon, investigators believed the collision to be alcohol-related, an SRPD spokesperson told DanvilleSanRamon.

The investigation and cleanup resulted in a closure of portions of the intersection for nearly three hours.
