Welcome to the Playbook!

It is time for another week of the 2025-26 prep sports year! The Playbook takes you inside the East Bay Athletic League, writing about outlooks, updates and insights into all the sports, along with profiles of athletes, and opinions regarding controversial issues in high school sport.

The Big Picture starts with the road warriors that have become the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, as both Wolves’ teams advanced to the CIF D-II soccer championship games by winning a combined six matches away from home. Plus, get a roundup on how the other EBAL teams fared in NorCal playoffs games.

EBAL Power Rankings feature the final rankings for soccer and basketball. Next week we debut the baseball, softball, and volleyball rankings. What to Watch has the CIF State soccer finals, as well as the first week of EBAL volleyball. The Fast Five comes back next week with spring sport athletes!
