Welcome to the Playbook!

It is time for another week of the 2025-26 prep sports year! The Playbook takes you inside the East Bay Athletic League, writing about outlooks, updates and insights into all the sports, along with profiles of athletes, and opinions regarding controversial issues in high school sport.

The Big Picture looks at the hiring of new Amador Valley football coach Duncan Burgermeister. It was the perfect call for a new coach. Also, what’s up with the last week of the EBAL winter regular season.

EBAL Power Rankings see some jumping around in boys’ soccer where we have a new No. 1 team! Minimal movement in the other three leagues. What to Watch has the big games for the final week of the regular season. We also have the where and when of all the rivalry games in basketball and soccer. The Fast Five visits with Amador Valley soccer player Avi Gorrepati. If you love soccer, you will love his “Must Follow” on social media.

If you know of a great story, or have any questions, please reach out either by email at acesgolf@aol.com or by phone at 925-200-0719.

From the sidelines,
Dennis Miller, Playbook Editor
