California Highway Patrol officers in Dublin are asking for the public’s help identifying and locating a black Chevrolet Camaro that was able to “black out” or “turn off” its license plate while evading officers early Wednesday morning after speeding in the North Pleasanton, Dublin area.
The car fled from an officer around 8:20 a.m. after being clocked going over 100 miles per hour, according to a Facebook post from the CHP’s Dublin Area Office. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 580 — the officer last saw the car west of Interstate 680 before losing sight of the suspect.
“Please, if you saw this and have information that will help us track down this vehicle, we would appreciate it!” CHP stated in Wednesday’s Facebook post.
Despite there being some feature in the vehicle that allowed the driver to hide their license plate from view, CHP noted in its post that the plate’s color was black and had either yellow or white writing.
