Lytning Hazen, a freshman at Dublin High, followed up his 108-pound weight class championship at the Lou Bronzan wrestling tournament at Liberty with another title at the San Ramon Valley Invitational.
At the Bronzan — one of the oldest tournaments in the area — Hazen beat Antonia Garaventa, a junior at Franklin High who is the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the North Coast Section, in the finals.
The tournament championship at San Ramon Valley saw Hazen also named the Outstanding Lightweight Wrestler. He pinned three opponents to move to the finals, where he faced Aiden Calvert of Franklin. A 4-2 win moved Hazen to 18-4 in the season and the No. 2 ranking in NCS.

Early call for spring results
It might seem hard to believe but we are not far away from spring sports starting. In fact, tryouts are less than three weeks away.
If you have a child playing spring sports, or even if you are an athlete who will be playing this spring, get ready to help get us results at the Pleasanton Weekly!
Spring is the busiest time of the year with baseball, softball, track-and-field, boys’ volleyball and golf, stunt, lacrosse, swimming/diving and badminton.
In the coming weeks I will post more extensive directions as to how to present the results to maximize the coverage.
Once again, I need the results every Sunday at noon. My contact information again is acesmag@aol.com and 925-200-0719. If you have any questions, please contact me at either option!
Editor’s note: Dennis Miller is a contributing sports writer for Embarcadero Media Foundation’s East Bay Division. To contact him about his Pleasanton Preps column, email acesmag@aol.com.
