The Pleasanton-San Ramon-Dublin National Youth Cricket Tournament drew more than 450 young cricketers from across the Bay Area, California and U.S. for four days of high-intensity matches. The organizers noted the tourney notched over 20,000 livestream views nationwide.

“This tournament is a true testament to what collaboration, planning, and passion can achieve,” said the joint organizing committee representing Cricket for Cubs, San Ramon Cricket Association-Youth and DCL.

“Over four days, we served 2,000+ meals, completed 100% of matches on time, appointed neutral umpires at both ends, offered professional HD livestreaming, and created a memorable sporting experience for more than 450 young athletes,” organizers added. “None of this would have been possible without our 100+ volunteers who worked around the clock — backed by nearly six months of preparation. The Tri-Valley community once again demonstrated that youth cricket here is truly special.”

With games contested at nine venues up and down the Tri-Valley corridor, capped by the closing ceremony at Stanford Stadium at Bernal Community Park in Pleasanton in front of hundreds of people Nov. 30, the local teams showed out during the eighth annual tournament.

Tri-Valley teams reached the finals in all four age groups, including the DCL Legends winning a Tri-Valley showdown in the U16 championship match. SRCA secured second place in U12, U14 and U16, and DCL earned runners-up in the U10 bracket.

Vinod Murthy, coach of the Denver Dynamites, praised the tournament and commended the organizers for their efforts during the holiday weekend.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for hosting the PSD Thanksgiving Tournament,” Murthy said. “The opportunity to compete, learn, and enjoy high-quality cricket in such a well-managed environment means a lot to our young team … We look forward to participating again in the future.”
