The Amador Valley varsity boys’ soccer team stayed on a roll with a 6-0 win over San Marin on Saturday.
The two sides played even for the first 31 minutes of the match until Jonas Lyions opened up the scoring with a goal for the Dons, converting an assist from Oliver Heid.
The first goal opened the flood gates for Amador as five more goals came.
Diogo Tempero, Nico Baylosis, Avi Gorrepati, Ryan Smiley and a second from Lyions finished out the scoring for the Dons. The biggest of the six goals came from Tempero, who was playing in his first game since recovering from a broken leg he suffered in the fall.
Defensively, the Dons were impenetrable, with freshman goalkeeper Andrew Haskell earning a clean sheet in his varsity debut.
Gorrepati earned the player of the game designation for his relentless pressure throughout.
The win helped the Dons to a 7-1 record as they head to the deep and talented East Bay Athletic League.
The junior varsity team also got a win over San Marin as Aiden Han scored the lone goal as the Dons got the 1-0 win.
Dyllan Perrez Gallegos got the assist on the game-winner. Nico Rodriguez, Eli Yeh and Ewan Kinnear controlled the midfield throughout the match, creating chances and disrupting attacks.
Jace Danielson helped create the goal from a throw into the San Marin goal area.
The Amador freshman team played twice last week winning at Freedom 3-1, then beating San Marin 2-1.
Calvin Sharma scored a pair of goals in the win over Freedom, with Jason Pineda knocking in a pair in the win against San Marin the second.
Goalkeeper Daniel Heid contributed in both games with a few terrific saves.
