The San Ramon City Council is set to hold a special meeting Tuesday evening to interview applicants and consider making an appointment for a new student commissioner on the Parks and Community Services Commission.

The council received applications from eight local teens vying for the one-year position that begins July 1. The student commissioner will also serve as the chair of the city’s Teen Council, according to city officials.

The special council meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in the large conference room at San Ramon City Hall, 7000 Bollinger Canyon Road.
