An Antioch man was charged Wednesday with alleged possession of child sex abuse material, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said.
Ryan Fenton, 32, was arrested Tuesday by Walnut Creek police after a warrant issued after a complaint filed by prosecutors in February, the DA’s office said. The complaint was refiled on Tuesday after more evidence was allegedly found implicating Fenton.
During his arrest, officers located chemicals and alleged illegal fireworks in his garage, prompting a hazmat response and putting the neighborhood on temporary lockdown.
Fenton was charged with four felony counts of allegedly being in possession of over 600 images of child or youth pornography between October 2024 and November 2025.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 9 and he is being held on $200,000 bail.
