An annual report conducted by the city in order to assess San Ramon’s financial condition, during Tuesday’s meeting city staff will provide the report’s findings and recommendations for how the budget can be better distributed to optimize city services.

“The 2020-2021 fiscal year budget was prepared based on the city’s best assumptions, projections, and estimates of financial impacts in the light of an unprecedented global pandemic affecting, in one way or another, every government service and related budget provided by the city. After almost a year later, and with a second spike of the virus in late fall, the city is still in the grips of this horrific crisis,” city staff said in a report to the council.

In addition to making recommendations on how the city can adjust its budget, the report will review how the town’s finances have been severely hampered by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, however city staff said that there are signs of improvement.

The San Ramon City Council’s regular meeting is set to be held virtually at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (March 9). Interested residents can view the meeting on the city’s YouTube page or on its Zoom account using webinar ID 928 0756 2636.
