Renovations are underway to turn an empty former Rite Aid building into a high-end fitness club in affluent Alamo.
Vim + Vigor Fitness recently announced that its brand-new “Reserve Club” concept will make its debut with a premiere location in the Alamo Plaza Shopping Center, scheduled to open in December.
“Welcome to the first-ever Vim + Vigor Fitness Reserve Club, our most elevated fitness experience, designed for those who expect more from where they train,” the company said on its website.
Vim + Vigor representatives did not respond to DanvilleSanRamon.com’s request for an interview, as remodeling crews were busy working away inside the unit at 130 Alamo Plaza last week.
“Every detail has been intentionally curated to create an environment that fuels performance, focus, and inspiration from the moment you walk through the doors,” the website stated. “From world-class strength and cardio equipment selected for both function and experience, to sophisticated interior finishes, purposeful lighting, and carefully crafted design elements, every aspect of The Reserve Club has been built with intention.”
One of the anchors of the downtown Alamo Plaza, the unit has been vacant for just over a year since Rite Aid shuttered amid the company’s bankruptcy proceedings nationwide.
The shopping center does have two other fitness brand tenants – The Iron House at 190F Alamo Plaza and the BODYROK pilates studio at 170F Alamo Plaza. 24 Hour Fitness had a long presence there too, in the 140F unit, before closing for good in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
