The Contra Costa County Arts and Culture Commission is seeking nominations for the 2019 “Arts Recognition Awards.”

This is the commission’s 21st year of honoring people who have made a significant artistic or philanthropic contribution to the local residents and community.

Nominees must be, or have been, an active supporter of arts and culture in the county with sustained contributions and work that has had a far-reaching impact.

Arts Recognition Awards winners have made a difference in visual arts, music, performing arts, dance, digital arts or arts education.

Other worthy candidates might be those who have shown exceptional leadership, vision and commitment to the growth and support of arts and culture, or organizations that have kept the arts alive through continuous or significant financial support.

Up to five honorees will be selected by a panel of jurists, with special recognition from the County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 22. A reception will be held at a later date to honor the recipients.

Submit nominations online. The nomination period closes at midnight on Aug. 30.
