The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to continue discussions on a proposed housing project that would bring an additional 457 units to the city’s Bishop Ranch neighborhood, following a study session and feedback on the project late last year.
The Avalon Bay Apartment Project proposed for Bishop Ranch 3A at 6200 Bollinger Canyon Road would house the hundreds of units within two buildings, with the northern building also consisting of 11,400 square feet of leased space for amenities for future residents, and the southern building including a courtyard with a pool.Â
A parking structure consisting of 640 stalls is also proposed for the center of the project, with the placement and design aimed at hiding it from public view. It would be accessible via an extension of Bishop Drive, with residences situated with entrances from the garage level.Â
The site is part of the CityWalk Master Plan. The proposed project is required to conform to standards within the plan and its associated environmental impact report. The proposed five-story and seven-story buildings making up the project are within the height requirements for the CityWalk plan, as well as its density requirements.
The proposed project came to the Planning Commission previously at a Nov. 7 study session, which included a concept review and yielded feedback from commissioners. The applicant – San Francisco-based Avalon Bay Communities – submitted a Preliminary Housing Development application on Jan. 11 along with other development applications for the project.
Following the presentation and discussion at the Planning Commission’s upcoming meeting, city staff will continue the review process for the project’s applications.
The San Ramon Planning Commission is set to meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 6). The agenda is available here.
