This video explores the effects of music therapy on opioid addiction by examining how both opioid and instrumental exposure affect white matter connectivity in our brains. Through a neuroscientific lens, this video offers a scientific proposal as to how music therapy could potentially (with more research) assist in improving white matter connectivity in the brains of opioid users.
This video was produced as part of a program to educate youth and others about Alameda County’s opioid crisis, prevention and treatment options. The program is funded by the Alameda County Behavioral Health and the grant is administered by Three Valleys Community Foundation.
