Contra Costa County is seeking applicants to represent the county on the East Bay Regional Park District’s Park Advisory Committee, a citizens’ group that reviews park policies and makes recommendations.

The 21-member committee advises the district on issues such as park land use, grazing, rules for dogs, horses and bicycles, the district budget, park facility names and new concessions, according to a public invitation on Tuesday from the county Office of Communications & Media.

The appointee will serve a two-year term from Jan. 1, 2027, through Dec. 31, 2028. The position is voluntary and unpaid. Members may serve up to four consecutive two-year terms, or eight years.

The committee meets at 4 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month, county officials said.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 9. Forms are available by calling the Contra Costa County Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 925-655-2000 or online. Completed applications must be submitted to the clerk of the Board of Supervisors at the County Administration Building, 1025 Escobar St., Martinez, CA 94553.

Applicants should be available for virtual interviews via Zoom on Nov. 23. More information about the committee is available at ebparks.org or by calling the East Bay Regional Park District at 510-544-2006.
