You can change a life. English need not be your first language. No teaching experience is required. Volunteer to help adults in your neighborhood to read, write and speak English well enough to function in our society. The next Diablo Valley Literacy Council workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-1;30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6; and from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Concord.
You must attend both sessions. There is a nominal fee to cover the training and material costs. Adult volunteers typically give one or two hours per week.
