A new exhibit highlighting artists known for creating works from discarded everyday objects is set to arrive in Danville’s Village Theatre and Art Gallery beginning mid-March.

“Lost and Found,” curated by town visual arts coordinator Marija Nelson Bleier, will display creations from seven sustainable artists, including sculptures and paintings made from wood, metal and paint that had been thrown away. Some of the artworks will be available for purchase, according to town officials.

Featured artists will include Joe Bologna, Josef Twirbutt and Cassandra Tondro, town officials said.

The opening reception for “Lost and Found” was held March 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the gallery. The exhibit is set to run through April 25.

The gallery is open to visitors Wednesdays through Fridays from 12-5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment only. It is closed on Sundays. Admission is free, and donations are welcome.

For more information on the exhibit, call 314-3460 or mbleier@danville.ca.gov.
