BART, bicycles, garbage pickup and the farmers market are among the handful of discussion topics set for Tuesday evening’s regular meeting of the Danville Town Council.
The session will also see the council consider a pay raise and contract extension for city attorney Robert Ewing.
Director Matthew Rinn, who represents Danville on BART’s Board of Directors, will provide a presentation to the council toward the beginning of the meeting, updating the town officials about recent happenings for the regional transit agency.
The councilmembers will then receive separate informational reports from the chair of the town’s Bicycle Advisory Commission, the manager of the Danville Farmers’ Market and from Town Manager Tai Williams.
Later, Mayor Renee Morgan and Vice Mayor Newell Arnerich will give updates on the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and RecycleSmart, the regional solid waste authority. Morgan and Arnerich represent the town and council as liaisons to the chamber and as board members for RecycleSmart.
In their main piece of voting business, councilmembers will weigh a salary increase of 3% and a one-year contract extension for Ewing upon a “highly satisfactory” annual employment review. The revised agreement will see the city attorney’s salary rise by $8,254 and fringe benefits go up by $2,972 for the year, according to town staff.
As part of its consent calendar, the council will consider adopting notices of completion for three notable projects in town: San Ramon Valley Boulevard improvements, the Downtown Master Plan catalyst project and the 2023-24 pavement rehabilitation program.Â
The regular council meeting is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 2) in the Town Meeting Hall at 201 Front St. in downtown Danville. The full agenda can be accessed here.
