“The Clerk-Recorder’s office is thrilled to be able to offer this very fun Halloween wedding venue for our special ‘Scaremonies’ weddings,” said Kristin Connelly, clerk-recorder and commissioner of civil marriages, in a press release Tuesday.
“Contra Costa County is home to many historical, hidden gems, and Port Costa School is a very special landmark that will most definitely provide a thrilling and unforgettable wedding experience on Halloween,” she continued.
The annual “Scaremonies” tradition in Contra Costa allows for couples to celebrate both Halloween and their wedding days in-costume or in traditional attire.
The Clerk Recorder’s office will perform a total of 14 wedding ceremonies at the historic school site on Oct. 31. Couples are required to have a valid marriage license. More information is available here.
