A jury trial for the criminal case against former San Ramon Valley cheer coach and SRVUSD biology teacher Nicholas Moseby that was set to kick off next week has been delayed for a third time, with a trial date now set for Aug. 12.

The news comes following a case readiness conference on June 10 ahead of the previous June 24 trial date, during which scheduling conflicts arose for the judge in the trial and for an expert who the defense was seeking to hire.
The latest delay in the jury trial is the third since it was originally scheduled in November 2023, then rescheduled for March and pushed out again to this month amid more schedule conflicts for the judge and Moseby’s defense.
The newly rescheduled date means that by the time the case goes to trial, it will have been nearly two years since Moseby was first taken into custody on criminal charges brought forward by the district attorney’s office for sexually harassing and assaulting minors in September 2022, with additional victims having come forward since then.Â
Moseby – who has pleaded not guilty – continues to be out on bail, which was posted at the end of 2022.
