The Danville Town Council is set to provide its final approval on a recently completed sound wall maintenance project at its upcoming regular meeting, which was shifted to Wednesday this week.

Work was recently completed on the project that consisted of removing and replacing blocks and foundations in the soundwall at 13 spots along Camino Tassajara and Sycamore Valley Road, with the council set to vote on approving a notice of completion this week.

“The project is now complete and ready for acceptance by the Town. All work was performed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications,” Civil Engineering Associate Bruce Swenson wrote in a staff report.

The final price tag came out to $270,558, a $39,896 increase from the original contract amount of $230,662, Swenson wrote, as the result of one contract change order.

“The change order consisted of two additional sections, sound wall repair work along Crow Canyon Road and bid item adjustments,” Swenson wrote, adding that the final amount is within the project’s authorized construction budget.

The council is set to vote on approving the notice of completion as part of its consent agenda, which are matters of routine business generally voted on as a block.

The Danville Town Council is set to meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 5). The agenda is available here.
